Dan Hentschel is ending his senior year on a high note. At the Friends Video and Animation Festival, Dan’s film Town Painters won in the Long Subject category. This is a terrific accomplishment, since this festival includes entries from all over the Baltimore metro area. But the icing on the cake came when Dan won the Audience Favorite prize, awarded to the overall best film in the festival. High praise for a film he wrote, directed, shot, and edited. The film’s cast featured seniors Lindsay McCumber and Catey Minnis, as well as recent grad Thomas Gardner.
Town Painters has also been accepted into the Baltimore High School Film Festival. This means that, for the third consecutive year, Dan will have a film screened at the historic Charles Theater. The festival will be held Thursday, June 4, from 4-6 pm. (The Charles Theater is located at 1711 North Charles Street in Baltimore.) We hope you get a chance to enjoy Dan’s film – and the work of other young filmmakers – on the big screen.
