Normally we'd be inserting all sorts of clever banter here about a given event -- in this case the adventures of the John Carroll Academic Team (those rogues!).
But Coach Schick's account is just so perfect, we'll let him handle the drama for us. Enjoy!

On this beautiful Saturday morning, John Carroll’s Academic Team competed in the Harford County Academic Tournament. Justin Hawkins, Rawlison Zhang, Will Smith, Drew Forthman, and Eric Johnson participated, with the Patriots emerging as the County Champions in typically gutsy fashion.
There were five games in the first round. Results:
JC 220, Fallston 110.
JC 260, North Harford 100.
Bel Air 130, JC 120 (we fell on the very last question - ouch)
CMW 190, JC 160.
Then, in a must-win game to get into the playoffs: JC 240, Joppatowne 90.
In the Semifinals, we got revenge with a resounding 200 - 150 victory over Bel Air.
And in the Finals, we bounced back against previously undefeated CMW, winning the championship decisively 240 - 160.
I couldn’t be prouder of how our team responded to the pressure, beating two teams who had previously defeated them. With a crowd watching, and with the television cameras on them (HCN recorded it, I’ll let you know when it will air), our team proved that it’s not always about being the smartest kids in the room, but about being the most resilient, best-prepared, and toughest-minded team.
This is the second tournament JC has won this season, and the first time John Carroll has won the County Championship since 2004, joining previous winners in 2002, 2001, 1999, 1988, and 1987. Next stop, Nationals in Chicago!
As always, the Neutrinos thank you for your support.
