Congratulations to the John Carroll Moot Court Team who won a state-wide Moot Court Tournament at the University of Baltimore School of Law on Saturday, December 3. Seniors Grace Mottley and Caleb Olsen represented the team as they argued an appeal before the Supreme Court where the issues dealt with the 1st and 4th Amendments. Drew Forthman, Holly Dixon, and Jacob Smidt also participated in 2 rounds of the competition. John Carroll defeated Notre Dame Prep in the semi finals and then took down defending-champion Franklin High School by 1 point to win the tournament!
Coaching with Mr. Rob Dannenfelser, Mr. Sean Connolly commented on the professionalism and poise of their team, especially Grace Mottley and Caleb Olsen. “When I continually heard from the judges that Grace and Caleb did a much better job than many lawyers that argue before them, I knew regardless of the outcome of the tournament that they were winners,” Mr. Connolly stated.
