The Columbia Scholastic Press Association announced the finalists for its Crown Award. This year a total of 1,203 newspapers, magazines, yearbooks, and digital publications issued during the 2013-2014 academic year were eligible for judging in the 2015 Crown Awards program. The Patriot was named a Crown finalist, one of high school journalism's highest awards, in the hybrid publication category. The hybrid category judges both the print and online editions of the newspaper for awards contention. As a finalist, the Patriot is guaranteed to win either a Silver or Gold Crown at the CSPA convention in March. Congratulations to John Carroll's student journalists, and good luck in March!
