The JC Robotics teams competed in a FIRST Robotics Qualifier at Marriott's Ridge High School in Howard County on Sunday, February 9, and were very successful by placing 7th out of 25 teams! Members of team 8158: Austin Schap, Matt Walker, Tom Yang, Sean Campbell, Darrius Pirozzi, Wilson Pais, Camille Smith, Marc Griffin and Alex English all participated on Sunday and did an incredible job. All the students met for countless hours after school and on weekends preparing and modifying their robot. The changes made gave them the advantage over other teams since they were able to score more points and maintain a strong lead from the start. Special thanks to parents of two former JC grads, Margaret and Anders Beain, for all their help and support in preparing for the competitions. We don’t know where we would be without them!
