The Tri-M National Music Honor Society, as recognized by the National Association for Music Education, is designed to recognize and promote student musicianship as well as help shape future leaders. Through more than 5,500 chartered chapters, Tri-M has helped thousands of young people provide years of service through music in schools throughout the world. In order to become a member of Tri-M, students must be enrolled in at least one major music ensemble (Band, Chorus, Jazz Band, or Orchestra) and participate in at least one minor performance group (Bella Voce, Color Guard, Indoor Drumline, Pep Band, String Ensemble, Theater). Additionally, students must academically maintain an A average in music and a B average overall. As a memberS of Chapter 6686 at The John Carroll School, students will promote themselves and the school through musical performances and service within the school, and the greater community.
