For the third year in a row, the John Carroll Academic Team, under the leadership of Mr. Deaver, emerged victorious in the Harford County Championship Tournament May 27-28! After a competitive journey through pool play on Saturday morning, where JC lost to both C. Milton Wright and Bel Air, John Carroll was seeded third heading into the afternoon finals. JC’s first match-up: C. Milton Wright. Based on a strong performance from Jack Plummer and good support from Pierce Berger, the team stretched out an early lead and never looked back. “This set us up for an opportunity to avenge our other morning loss against Bel Air in the tournament finals, and our Team was up to the challenge!” Mr. Deaver commented. With equally strong performances by Jack and Pierce and good assists from Paul Cappobianco and Matt Foulk, John Carroll pulled out a victory with a final score of 200 - 180.
