Jonathan Kaufman, ’18, is currently a Life Scout with Troop 564 in Bel Air. He began his scouting career as a Tiger Cub with Pack 564 in first grade and has continued through the ranks. Recently he completed his Eagle Scout Project at John Carroll. His project consisted of building four picnic tables. These tables will be utilized by a variety of groups and individuals at many activitie,s such as JC sporting events and summer camps for years to come. When asked why he decided to do his project at John Carroll, he responded, “I decided to do my project here because I wanted to give back to my school.” A total of 17 peopl,e including scouts, friends, and adults, took five and a half hours to complete the project on August 22, 2015. The total time put into the project including planning, fundraising, and execution was about 50 hours of work from Jonathan alone. At the completion of the project, he was very excited and felt that it was a rewarding experience. He is very thankful for all the support and comments by faculty and students at The John Carroll School. Jonathan is also a member of the school band, part of the tech crew for theatre productions, assists in the I/T support office, and is an altar server for the school masses.
