The John Carroll Academic Team finished the season in second place in Catholic League competition, falling 29-27 to Calvert Hall in the championship game yesterday. Despite a valiant effort in which JC scored 7 of the last 10 points, and 4 of the last 5, the Hall held on for a narrow victory.
Coach Bob Schick had this to say:
"This second place finish is the best showing of any team I have coached at John Carroll -- yet another terrific accomplishment for this year’s Neutrinos, along with winning the Bel Air Tournament and qualifying for Nationals.
"Looking at the faces in the attached picture, it's easy to see why I have loved working with these brilliant students, these fierce competitors, these crazy goofballs. Such a narrow defeat can be tough to swallow, but we won't let it detract from the phenomenal season we have had."
Congratulations to the John Carroll Academic Team for a truly magnificent season! Our Patriot pride runs deep today!
