On Friday, January 31st, the Culture Shock Club invited John Carroll students to their Around the World Fair. Hosted in the Media Center, this all day event had a great turnout and introduced John Carroll students to a variety of countries, cultures, and foods. Members of the club worked in pairs or small groups to research and create presentations on countries of their interest and ten countries were represented: Russia, France, Ireland, Kenya, Cambodia, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Chad, Columbia, and North Korea.
International students showed their interest in learning and teaching during this event. Since attending, many of them have expressed interest in finding additional ways to introduce local students to the cultures representative of the eleven home countries of our international students.
