Filmmaker Dan Hentschel is on a roll. Dan’s film Black Lode was selected to be screened in the Baltimore High School Film Festival at the historic Charles Theater. This is the second year in a row that one of Dan’s films was shown at the Charles. Black Lode also won the Grand Prize in the Long Video category at last week’s Friends Video and Animation Festival. The Friends School of Baltimore sponsored the longest-running high school film festival in Maryland, with nearly sixty films submitted this year. Dan wrote, directed, and edited Black Lode, which features performances by John Carroll actors Thomas Gardner, Lindsey McCumber, Karly Horn, and Brady Fritz,with music by Andy Beain.
