VolunTeen President Drew Evans '23, Secretary Katie Yurechko '20 and Vice President Ryan Skandalis '23 have once again been hard at work trying to make a difference. First, upon the initial news of school closings, VolunTeen organized an Emergency Food Drive for kids who rely on school meals. The local community donated about $4,800 worth of food in 48 hours, which Harford Community Action Agency (headed by Executive Director Pamela Craig, parent of Tatum Overbay '22) picked up to distribute at 13 designated locations.
Next, VounTeen enlisted the help of other students to make a "video of hope" for senior citizens isolated at nursing homes, doctors and nurses working tirelessly at Upper Chesapeake, and others impacted directly by this hard time. These photos were featured in the video, which is being sent to places across the county to brighten the days of all those who see its smiling faces and inspiring words. Watch the video here.
